Love mine, shoots better than my marlin 39a and my 9422. Pickier on ammo, as it loves blunter bullets, more than sharp edged , due to directly being fed rather than using a ramp. (kinda like CRF in a way, the round is trapped and fed straight into the chamber. I really love mine. +1 vote.

I played with one at a dealer the other day. I found the action needed to be SLAMMED closed, otherwise it seemed to catch 2/3rds close and bind. I just walked away. Id rather save a little bit and get a henry then be stuck with a rough running, unpleasant firearm.

Im not a norinco basher, this is my first hands-on experience with them.

Noticed that a bit also .

I have a couple of Norcs, but I am getting a bit tired of not having a well finished firearm. The basic Henry lever action .22 is cheap and is a really nice gun.

Norincos sometimes need more of a break-in period. Put a "brick" through it first, then things may smoothen up.

mine took about 4 boxes (200ish) for mine to run as smooth as the others. It actually feels like a more solid gun than my other 2.
Maybe I got a wednesday gun and not a monday morning gun??

the front is dovetailed, so I'd say yes. The rear is a ladder type, BUT I think that the leaf is dovetailed in also, but I'll have to look in the morning. Mine sights shoot straight as a whip. I really like this thing. I have a friend absolutely drooling over it, offering to do all kinds of building work for free for me if I fork it over. He can stuff it.
