Norinco 308 back in stock

Is this newly manufactured or more 90's stuff? I'm just curious because the packaging seems different and they're in 500-rnd cans instead of 520.
 
Is this .308 actually ALL non-corrosive?...

...I've had bad experiences with supposedly non-corrosive Chinese 7.62X39 - some in the case were, some were not.

I think, and someone will correct me if I'm wrong, your seller probably got the corrosive and non corrosive mixed up. Since corrosive seems to be limited to a certain era of manufacturing.

This stuff is newer manufactured and uses no corrosive material. I don't think 7.62x51 was manufactured by combloc way back when.

The other question I have is; is this worth running through my xcr-m? Is the copper washed steel softer on rifle internals?
 
An article I read on 223 where the shoot out involved copper casings, steel case lacquered, and steel case copper wash.

It was suggested that steel cases may be harder on chamber and extractor if I recall

I apologize though not trying to high jack the thread. Ill probably try and swing a case at that price.

I'm interested in knowing as well, the last crates around were 1040rnds and 147gr, these are 1000rnds and 145gr.
 
The previous ammo was copper washed steel cased and copper washed steel jacketed (thin soft steel, not steel cored). I would assume this is the same.

Don't think they copper wash cases. Maybe plate them? MFS zinc plates their steel cases. Bimetal, they just chucked some copper in the mix?

If it was blended/melted together as you suggest, then it would be considered an alloy.
This is steel with a thin layer of copper somehow deposited on the outer surface to prevent the steel from rusting. The copper does the same job as a coat of paint.
 
bimetal is a rolling mill process, thus they can draw the material as is.

all the ammo I have seen in this batch is 96.
