Anyone reload this stuff extensively? Was just wondering if it lasts as well as other brass. I have a quantity of once-fired and was wondering if it has the same value as other brass.

All opinions welcome.

Just a general comment: All brass used for ammunition must meet certain manufacturing standards and conform to the safety requirements for the caliber being loaded. That said, it's evident you have some manufaturers that produce at the low end of the tolerances and those who play super safe (mostly US and European manufacturers because of potential lawsuits if the shooter is injured due to a ruptured factory loaded round) and use the high end of the tolerances. If Norinco brass is manufactured in China (didn't look it up), I don't think they're particularly worried about a lawsuit coming from Canada or the USA. Why don't you cut one in half, measure the wall thickness, web thickness etc and compare it to a Federal, CCI or Winchester case. Granted, you won't be able to check out the metalurgical composition but it could give you some indication...

:eek: Great idea! Stand by.......

I would not reload NO-RINCO brass. I wouldnt even fire the factory stuff for that matter.
just my opinion.. not trying to be an ass.

I have never seen their .45ACP, but I have used their 9mm Para. The primer pockets were a little tight and the brass seems a little dull even after polishing, but other than that, it was fine for reloading.

My 9mm primer pockets were lose and only took one reloading (green box).

I am out of town working at the moment. I sectioned 12 cases before I left. Here is a pic;

When I was getting ready to leave I threw these pieces into my breifcase so I could do up a report for everyone and I left the calipers sitting on the desk.:redface: :bangHead:

More to come later.

Hard to tell from the picture but...

  • Norinco, Sellier & Bellot, RA63 do look thinner in the base of the web than others
  • TZZ, Winchester look much thicker there
  • The body thickness looks very close in thickness except maybe a bit thicker at the head of the RP, Norinco.
  • Sellier & Bellot looks much thinner over all.
But that all said I have only seen 45 ACP cases go bad with splits running down from the mouth of the case.

Thanks for taking the time to cut the cases and taking the picture.

i've used the tzz and it has proved to "loosen" up quicker than even the winchester for the number of reloads- in MY EXPERIENCE- i got the most reloads from R/P , then winchester, then federal, and tzz rounding out the bottom of the list- and i'm not using light loads- 6.1 of 231 and a 200 lswc-

I had a couple Norinco 45 cases split after two firings, one factory and one with moderate load data. I just chuck 'em now, there's tons of Winchester and Remington out there. They're not worth the extra QA required for safety, in my opinion.
