Norinco 45acp...

Just to be clear, this Norinco ammo has no steel at all and I don't think it is wise to print this in a Sponsor's forum, thus hurting their business. To those who have said it is very dirty and contains some steel in the core or jacket, you are wrong on both accounts.

My last trip to the range i shot 200 rounds of Norinco, I didn't find it to be that dirty. I'm only shooting at paper and i dont think the paper cares how much i spend on ammo. The loewer the cost of ammo means the more i can buy for that day at the range. :)

Where exactly will steel casing spark and cause fire?

When it hits a steel plate same metals hit same metals it causes it to spark. So when it sparks and the back stop is a fabric type material it can light on fire depends on the ranges back stop

this stuff makes me cf para 1911 really really black at the muzzle end after 4 boxes. SO WORTH IT!

So what ammo are you talking about? It's not this stuff as it doesn't contain any steel.

I find it is dirtier, but I dont have to clean the gun more then normal, just has more crap flying out of it sometimes, great ammo, casings reload nicely

no steel at all, dont know why someone would think that,

again GREAT ammo for the price

Your casings can hit steel plates only if you pick them off the ground and chuck them at the plates.

Let's not confuse casings and core/ bullet.

Steel casings- FINE.
Steel core/ bullet- PROBLEM- hitting back stop- creating sparks- fire hazard.

I have problems with this ammo in my Kriss vector. The Kriss will eat anything else besides Norinco. I get light primer strikes with Norinco 45 stuff.
It is like the casing isn't going completely going into the chamber. I don't think the primer is any harder then the other factory ammo like WW or AE stuff.
I did chrony the Norinco stuff and it was on average 100 fps less then AE or Winchester but if it was too weak it should most likely cause FTF or FTE and not light primer strikes.
I am not sure whats going on.

Are you saying that it's 100fps slower than American Eagle? The AE ammo i'm using is 890fps, that would make the Norinco 790fps, yet a lot of shooters that used the Norico say that it's hotter than most 45acp, why is that? What did your chrony measure the Norinco at?

As for the Norinco being dirty, I don't know yet, I have a crate of 1000 on order.
However, I can tell you that after firing only 20-30 rounds of AE from my S&W 1911 45 auto, the outside of my slide near the muzzle is black from powder residue, how much dirtier can it get using The Norinco ammo.

Thinking of getting this stuff...kinda "scared" tho. Do want want to ruin a $1,500 gun or myself trying to save money!!!

To me it seems like any other brand of .45 only cheaper. It leaves a bit more soot on the end of the barrel/slide after a trip to the range but that easily wipes off.
