Norinco 5.56 1600rd crates @ $420

A guy at the range said he bought a case of this and it's head stamped CJ 95. It came in the two 800 round spam cans. Can someone confirm that this ammo is 5.56 (not 223) and that it is non-corrosive. Was thinking about grabbing some for myself.

all the norinco/chinese 5.56 is non-corrosive. I have yet to see any evidence to the contrary. I suppose they may have done a run back during the Vietnam war for the NVA, but I have never seen it for sale

I thought it was $430... still, I might pick up one or two more crates.

"Price check on aisle three!"... "Price check on aisle three!": Nope, it's $439.95 per crate and there were a grand total of 26 crates there this morning at 10:30ish. Two crates on top were marked CJ-5-31, the rest a mix of CJ-5-23 and CJ-5-27. I'm assuming those all hold spam cans with cartridges of the CJ95 headstamp vintage.

Behind them were a rather big pile of AE223BK cardboard boxes/cases of loose 1000rd of 55 FMJ as pictured here (but priced at $499/case):

The first batch at $420 we got on an OLD purchase order. The new stuff is at the current pricing.

As to the Federal: It is more money, but we had to agree to a higher price in order to get it. Given the shortages in supply, we were happy to secure the 200,000 rounds for our customers.

Note to the mathematically challenged: The Norinco crates are a much, much better deal.

1600rds for $439.95 vs 1000rds for $499.95 = 27 cents/rd vs 50 cents/rd.

If you actually go to that U.S. link and click on the pics you'll see the going rate for that 1000rd case: $649 for 500 rounds. Ouch!!

The TSE offering is a bargain in comparison.
