Norinco 5.56 velocity?

I have shot multiple cases of Norinco over the years with nary a misfire. I believe that others may have had problems, but I have never witnessed an issue myself. I have also reloaded Norinco brass for years and it has treated me very well for the cost.

If the shooter gets .5" groups with other ammo, but the same shooter gets 1.5" groups with norinco ammo. Is it the shooter or the ammo.

I am just going by claims of people here on CGN, in this thread as well. I am just wondering why people are getting excited over a few more FPS, but don't care that it is 3 times less accurate, or worse. With up to a 225 to 250 FPS spread. That's all.

It is what it is. Its not that its three times less accurate than a developed handload, that's not apple to apples. Its simply a cheap plinking ammo, that includes brass.
1.5 moa is accurate enough for most peoples needs in my opinion. Most of this stuff is being shot out of ARs and dead nuts really isn't necessary for the average joe...
I don't think its the fps people are excited about. Its the fact it plain works, and its cheap.

I too reload my CJ cases, my sub .5moa load and many .75moa loads have been in that brass.
It definitely requires trimming as the consistency in brass length ISNT. Otherwise, throw the odd cracked neck etc and its a very affordable option for shooters. Or was.

Hey (newbie here) bought a crate and a half of them recently, see every where it's hot load, is that a bad thing? Bought them for my VZ58 but sold it before trying and going for AR now. Just wondering if I need to be more careful with these.

nope... Won't hurt an AR. I've put over 12k through mine in the last two years. As others have stated, it frequently has pressure differences (think bang, bang, BOOM), but no issues with it running and for me it's fine for CQB and out to 100m.

One or two batches had bad primers, but I can't remember the lot numbers off hand.

no problem at all. If you have a really custom one with the gas system and buffer and bolt all tuned to weaker ammo it may seem a bit more substantial, and chuck the brass a bit further, but its not a big difference. I load some weaker plinking rounds for my AR and if I use the Norinco stuff back to back with mine its noticeable, but if you are just using off the shelf bulk 55grn stuff, you have to be paying attention to notice it. I have an obnoxious brake on mine so it barks pretty good anyways.
