Accuracy was for shat too.

couple threads on CGN regarding this.

good thing im on my last spam can. Finally piecing everything to reload 223 myself

Should I have any real concerns about continuing to shoot this ammo? (Potentially aggravated by the fact I am a lefty shooting a right hand AR).

Of course you realize that 5.56 ammo should never be fired in a .223 chamber.

.223 is OK in a 5.56 chamber, but since the 5.56 is loaded to higher pressure and longer overall length due to the longer bullet and has some freebore that the .223 chamber lacks you can expect to see cases just like the on in the OP if you do it.

This may not be your problem at all. Just making sure folks realize that there IS a difference.

If it blows your gun up, all the gas is vented down through the mag well.... You should be fine.

Yeah, that is certainly where most of it seemed to go, though I did get some debris above my right eye. I was wearing eye protection, of course.

I contacted CANADA AMMO if they have anything reported on this particular ammo. I still have a good 600-700 of them sitting in my safe. Yes they are HOT and yes they make a bigger bang. Safe? MY rifles are GTG and 556 chambered. But still.

Stay safe.

Mine is a Wylde chamber, and I have over 2,000 rounds of this stuff.

It's well known now that this ammo has its failures seemingly quite often. It's up to you if you want to shoot it or not. If you have a rifle of decent build quality then I'd say go for it. I have been shooting this exclusively for a while now and have a few that simply didn't go bang (faulty primers).

I warned my BIL about this stuff but he bought a case anyway. He has shown me 3 cracked cases so far that he has found. I would imagine there have been others he missed. Also, watching him shoot some rounds are definitely louder than others with a bigger flame. I don't trust that stuff.

Ive had a blown primer in my tavor from this stuff. didnt bother me none, but then again its designed to handle hotter 556 stuff so im not to worried about it. I just remember seeing a ball of light and a warm feeling on my cheek lol.

Heres a picture to go along with it :D My gf just happened to be filming when it happened hehe.

I almost bought 4 case when they were buy 3 get 1 free. But after all the reports I went with 62 gr pmc x tac. No malfunction in the 400 rounds I shot and they are actually very accurate in my acr
