Norinco 7.62x39mm 122gr FMJ 20rds red box

Tenda had some listed today. Already sold out. Hopefully more retailers have some coming in

For $13.99 per 20 rounds for crappy ammo??? That comes to 79 cents/rd with an HST! Abomination. At least Tenda offers free shipping. By the way, not so far back in time, I bought 1000 rds from Cabela's and I paid $9.99/20. What's going on with these prices? War in Ukraine?

Depends on the retailer.

Before the recent sell out, I saw it for between $11.99 to as much as $15.49.

If this is the beginning of the retailers getting new stock, it will be interesting to see the prices.

Barnaul currently going for $1 per round or more on the secondary market.

I still have 800 rounds of Barnaul 7.32x39, leftovers from a couple thousand I bought from Tenda in August 2018 at 45 cents/rd (with HST). I guess I should keep at least some of them as collector items:)

When will more non corrosive red box ammo be brought it? I don't like shooting corrosive.

If you can afford shooting noncorrosive for about $1.50-2.00/rd you can find ammo without a big problem. The real question is when will more relatively inexpensive noncorrosive, like Norinco red box ammo, be available on the Canadian market? I'm afraid that we will never see it again. I think that a new batch of Norinco red box could be available in Fall 2024 but at a much higher price, I guess close to 80-90 cents/rd. I don't see any other exporter of steel case, steel jacketed, noncorrosive ammo other than Chinese Norinco at the moment. And the war in Ukr is still going on.

On 03-21-2024 North Sylva said shipment was 60 days away but no word since

If the prices go any higher on non corrosive norinco, i’ll just buy another t81 underfolder. Store that one away in the safe and run cheap corrosive ammo through my other t81 til it dies. Will be cheaper in the long run.

A good solution for military surplus rifles. However, not so great for hunting/sporting rifles in 7.62x39. I wouldn't put my Howa Mini Action and Ruger Ranch on a steady diet of corrosive ammo. From time to time I could shoot corrosive but not all the time.

My range has Norinco red box currently in stock, but it is now listed for $19.99. Only a couple weeks ago they had it listed for $13.99
