Norinco 870 14" owners thread

I have an HP9 which is sort of my "truck gun". The HP doesn't seem to eject as well as my Rem 870's, but it's great for general use. I recently managed to get the sight bead on the barrel mashed off, so need to fix that.. :(

I went "Old School Tacticool" with mine..

I jsut love how everyone has a ####in opinion to give even when its not asked for,

what part of "Ok guys I thought I'd start a thread for people who own this shotgun. We can share where we got accessories for them, pics and ideas."

Makes you think I want you to come into a thread and complain about norinco as a company?

Accessorizing the 'Homeland Security' model is hard to do. The mag tube is a unique length, so extensions and different barrels will NOT FIT.

Ask me how I know.

Sorry dude - if you want to accessorize, you're better off selling (giving away) the HS and buying a real HP9.

I got 'stuck' with a HS model, and it was bar none the WORST finished/funcitioning shotgun (or any gun) I've ever owned. I sold it for a major loss, but I was just glad to be rid of it.

"jsut" ? This has been covered a thousand times... This is the reason why the shotgun thread should be split up. How many cheap Chinese shotgun threads can one forum stand? Ever heard of "saving up" for something better?

Ya know what? It's like TV or radio... If you don't like what's on it, change the ####ing channel! Don't ##### about it!

I have one 'rinco shotgun and maybe 8 other "brand name" ones. I still enjoy the 'rinco just as much.

And now that you mention it, I AM saving up for a new M4.. :D

I do not get why everyone wants a "tacticool" shotgun though.. What's the point unless you plan to work / use / train with it.

What is a "rinco"? Another name for Chinese crap?

my homeland security blew up yesterday, less than 100 shots of 2 3/4 target load

Now Im in the process of (hopefully) getting a new slide for it, as thats the part that blew into three chunks (and a fracture that could easily be a fourth)
Do you have any pics of this? I'd be very interested in knowing specifically what broke and how it happened. When you say "slide" do you mean the action bars?

good times!

My Clay gun has probably over 50,000 target rounds threw it. It has never blown up and nothing has been broken. Guess you get what you pay for.

Hey, if that's your opinion of them, then you are more than entitled to it. :)

For those of us who like to "slum it" sometimes, "Chinese crap" will do in a pinch.

Personally, I like my Winchester defender better than any of my shotguns for versatility, usability, etc, but I will not say the my "Chinese crap" has been a poorly spent 300 bucks either!! LOL :D

Heck, it sure as hell gets more abuse than any of my other firearms, and keeps on ticking after 3 years! :)

To me? "Prise less" You get what you pay for.

No no, I mean honestly, about how much would your clay gun be worth??

I get what your saying, I compete in Service Rifle as well, and do you think I ran out and bought a Norinco 5.56 for that? No, I spent the money on a decent piece of kit so I knew what I was competing with would not fail me. As you have probably done with your clay guns.

But for my shotguns, which I don't use very much except to "play" clays, and shoot porcupines, I don't think I need a four thousand dollar shotgun. Do you?

I hope you see the point I'm making, I'm not trying to be argumentative with you, just trying to get you to understand that while the adage "you get what you pay for" may be true, sometimes you can pay less, and just "get what you need". :)

I own one (and it is being sold in the EE right now cause I don't need it) and I must say the overall feel is much better than an 870. It has some heft to it, very nice parkerized finish, over all better looking.

I don't know why people ##### about it so much, it is a better feeling shotgun than a Remington and you are not paying for the Rem name. It is based on an 870 and pretty much exact too, I put my 870 internals in it and they worked fine except for the slide, that wouldn't ft for some reason.

Ahh - I see you own a Norinco HP9. I agree with your assessment. I have owned 6 and never had an issue with any one of them.

The original poster owns a '780 Homeland Security' model which blows donkey balls. It's TERRIBLE. Accessories won't fit, and the internals are sharp and awful. Some come with a lame rail for a light, but you can't take it off. It's bad. BAAAAAAD. TERRRIBLE!!!!!

Hp9 - good
780 Homeland Security - run the other direction.

Very nice! About what I paid for my AR (pre optics and trigger) for competing.
50,000 rounds of #7, wow, sounds like a ####load of shootin'!! LOL

Canucklehead, my bad, for some reason I thought he was talking HP9... duh.. You can omit my HP9 picture on the previous pages.. LOL

To me? You get what you pay for.

Well... I paid $299.00 for my HP9 and have gotten 5 years of 3 gun matches and lots of plinking out of it... the front bead got a little whacked coming around a barricade at the last 3 gun match, and by now the finish is starting to look a little rough, but I've been asked if I would trust my life to this shotgun and without hesitation I answered yes...

The 6 round side saddle fits but as has been mentioned interferes with the slide causing some issues... however the 4 shot model works great...

I tried to mount a saddle style rail on my HP9 which wouldn't fit... the mounting holes in the saddle wouldn't come down quite far enough to align with the trigger group pin holes in the HP9 receiver... so I may just drill and tap it... or perhaps buy an 870 Tactical Express with the rail already mounted... but I wouldn't be buying it for any reason other than I have way more guns than I need, and far fewer than I want... I love my little HP9...
