Norinco 870/14vs. Dominion Grizzly 870/12.5

A year ago before CanAm started bringing in the Grizzly, I wouldn't hesistate to recommend the Norinco(export) HP9-1(I have one, great shotgun). The Grizzly is better value even if the Norinco is rather cheap. The Norc is 115% the cost of the Grizzly, the Grizzly comes with the buttstock and pistol grip, a rear swivel and front cap/swivel, whereas the Norinco doesn't.

Unless you are adamant about getting a 14" barrel (my preference), the Grizzly is the better buy.

FYI-CanAm is bring in other versions of the Grizzly soon including threaded barrels with chokes, various barrel lengths and a mag fed version.

......I have no affiliation with Canada Ammo. Just my opinion

Can the 20" Norinco barrel and 26"-28" barrels be bought?

The long norinco barrels will not fit because they are meant for a shorter mag tube as found on the long barrel Norc 870 copies

My norc has smoother action out of the box compare to my friend's grizzle. Otherwise they are about the same in all aspects.

I love my Norinco HP9-1. I shot it tons yesterday morning. Beautiful day for shooting :)

Good luck with your choice, but I would definitely buy another HP9-1 if I had to do it all again. The barrel goes past the end of the magazine tube, which I find looks better. I know it's only 1.5" difference, but still :)

Regarding the swapping of barrels:

What would be a good option if I wanted to put a longer duck hunting barrel on my griz? Is there an option?

Having worked and built up a bunch of combat shotgun using the griss and nork, soem remington barrle can be a bit tight, but nothing that cant be worked with.
