Norinco ammo

Yeppers! I just tried the scratched tin test. No rust in 5 days, compared to some known corrisive which rusted in about 8 hours!

It's a silver 20rd box in styrofoam with a red Norinco logo on the front, and says:

China North Industries Corporation
7.62x39mm Cartridge
Lead Core Bullet
Steel Case
Non Corrosive

The head stamp is 71 on the top, 94 on the bottom.

I picked up a LOT of it at a local gun show! A little over $100 per 1000, and NO, i'm not selling any!

He said he's going to be at the show in pickering on Oct 1st, and 2nd, http://www.militaryshow.ca

Unfortunatly, I paid cash, no receipt, and didn't get his card :(

WoW , .10 per shot, $2.00 a box, that's dam good. Can't reload for that.

It's $4/box of 20 if you buy less then 10 boxes. It's $15 for a flat of 100 rounds. Or $120 for a case of 1000. I bought quite a few cases, and he said he had over 68,000 rounds in stock, hence the smokin price.
I forget to grab his card, but damn, I'll prolly bring some more cash to the Oct 1st/2nd show and pick up some more. I didn't realize how much non-corrisive ammo is sold for!?

Be careful though as a couple of other people including myself have experienced corrosion in the gas tube and on the gas piston when using Norinco ammo.

Ensure thay you thoroughly strip and clean the gas system every time you shoot preferably the same day that you shoot.

I any of you get to the pickering show, could you please find try to get a name or #on this guy.
I just cleaned out a local store for $ 5 a box tx incl. but would like some more.
Thanx.

Why would you get corrosion in the gas tube and on the piston only if this is non corrosive ammo and not on other parts? Is it due to the type or quality of the material used on these parts? :?

I agree with 55recee, I have seen some Norinco cause corrosion in the gas port area of SKS's, but in my VZ58 it was cmpletely a non-issue. me thinks it is what you think RT, the material used in the gas ports is either non-chromed or is not of high enough quality to resist pitting caused by residue from the manufacture of powder or priming compounds.. whichever it might be.. :?: :?:

We just a few months ago I got some silverbox Norcy from back east but now the distributer has dried up. Hitzy do you have any of this?
Hopefully soon we will have some more North China Industries here in Canada. How hard would it be to obtain the business licences needed to become an importer here? Does anyone know?
