Hey there. I have a 14'' Norinco Barrel with a MIA front bead. Threads are ok, so would like to just replace with a brass bead. I read a few other threads enough to determine that norinco/remington beads are different, though I also got that from my own experimentation. I have a remington bead, but it is UNDER-sized for the Norinco barrel, it basically just falls into the hole. Does anyone know a source for a replacement NORINCO thread size brass bead?

Yah I had read that thread and unfortunately it left me with more questions than answers. The suggestion that the Norinco barrel could be just re-threaded to fit the Remington bead does not seem to support what I have in front of me as the Norinco hole is actually larger than the Remington. Appreciate the response, and hopefully someone has dealt with this before... rather avoid any plastic fiber optic crap on my bush gun.

do you have a tap set?
you can easily figure out what the thread is with one. just try gently threading them in by hand.
id do it for you but my front bead is buried in epoxy underneath a Wilson Combat tritium front sight :(

Yah I am trying to source a tap set to check with, unfortunately I do not have one myself. I am guessing its a metric/standard issue... dont imagine the Chinese use imperial thread sizes but really need to confirm before I can order anything. Just hoped someone may have been down this road already... :D

Thanks for the comment.
