Norinco brand

I was wondering about the quality of the Sig P226 clone and CZ85 myself, but I see they are liked here.

Additionally, though, how well aftermarket mags work and if parts availability is a problem with the non 1911 pistols.

I tried out someone's Sig a week ago and just about fell in love with it. It's going to take some saving to afford one, though. I wonder how the Norc feels and runs in comparison.

i currently or used to own
1911a1 all blued 5"
1911a1 two tone 5"
m-93
np-22 226 9mm
np-18 9mm hipower
np-17 9mm tok

only one i had issues with was the np-18 it had a feeding issue but was fixed with some ramp polishing and cleaning some rough edges. every other one has ran like a top, never given me an issue with over 1k rds through each.

I had 3 Norinco pistols, M93 Sportsman, NP34 and 1911 sport. Are are gone now, due to either upgrading or downsizing.

I liked NP34 the most, but the .22 was a great deal. 1911 on the other hand was very mediocre IMO.

As others have said, Norinco makes some very decent guns! I have a M4, M14 and a 1911 made by Norinco. I also have a chinese sks and a dominion arms grizzly 12ga, again good guns!

Cheers
Jay

I'm currently waiting for my NP22 (226) to arrive in the mail. It will be my first Norc pistol. I do however have a Norc SKS, AR15, and shotgun. Great guns, no complaints. Functionally, they work just as well as my non-Norcs.

Last question, does anyone know of a norinco chambered in 10mm? Like the glock 20? I tried google this but can't find anything, or maybe there is a mod available for one of the norinc models.

I have a norinco cqa and love it. Its cheap and works flawlessly. Other people at my range has high end ar's approx 2k and they run into problems more than me. Gonna be getting a norc 1911 too.

its the timex of the gun world

Agreed. My G34 has been epic, but this little Norc Gov 1911 has been stupidly good. A real eye opener, constantly impresses me. Just won't break or jam. Rattles like a sieve but functions flawlessly clean or filthy dirty and feeds damn near anything (even ammo that won't chamber in match grade 1911's) In skilled hands it can be very accurate.
Owned a high end match grade 1911 years ago, but never again after this.

It's a well made mule and I adore it.
Recommended buy to anyone on this site.

Nope, unless you're talking "10mm short". If I'm not mistaken, Glock and Colt are the only majors producing a 10mm pistol.

I was originally going to get the G34 but have decided to go with norinc and try a few 9 mm and a 40 cal pistols. If I have to spend the $$$ on a glock then I going to get the G20.

The OP is headed in the right direction. Have had at least 4 Norc's in the ever changing armory (now down to the M93). Most of the guys here are giving great advise. Norcs are confidently accurate (7-15 yds) and passable at 25 yds. They cost less than most others, surpass them in overall toughness and when they have done their job, are easy to find a new home on the EE. Sadly, I recently let go two 1911 Norcs (Police Special and NP29) to raise funds and pay off other debts. They both served me well for years!!!!
