for an extra $20 go with a stevens 200 from SIR.

Decent advice. But yes, Marstar is fantastic, and they even warranty Norinco products. Not bad. The little 7.62X39's can be made into not a bad little rifle (PM mysticplayer for more, he worked with one, he'll likely find this thread anyhow). They are small, relatively light, cheap as heck, and fire low recoiling, low muzzle blast, cheap ammo. A lot of positives there. Mind you everyone I've known who has owned one customized theirs a fair bit before they were happy...

I looked at one at a gunshow that a guy was selling NIB. The action was rough, and the bolt/extractor setup looked really cheap. Like everything else Norinco, it will probably shoot OK with a bit of work done to it.
Cheap gun with cheap ammo, the accuracy usually is not too good.

The one I played with shot quite well. I bedded the action, free floated the barrel, tuned the trigger (for all that helped) and shot 1.5MOA with most bullets and loads. Even got some MOA groups with Vmax bullets. Surplus was in worse but that's mostly the ammo.

It goes bang, feeds and extracts. No feeling of precision or warm fuzzy. You got what you paid for. Marstar are great guys to deal with.

Buy a Stevens in 223, tune or replace the trigger, bed the action/free float the barrel, be much happier...
