Norinco Chinese SKS

So just received my SKS that I ordered from Wolverine Supplies. Cool rifle and my first SKS.

I have tried searching web, and forums for answer but cant find how to open/close the spike bayonet...

Can anybody explain for me please.

pull the collar forward then swing it down

spring loaded.......pull it back toward the buttstock then push it toward muzzle.

you know your only going to hurt yourself with that,,

so drill out the punch marks from the retaining screw and remove the bayonet

If you've got to ask, better take the firing pin out as well, while you're at it.

Yes, already did this part, but i looked silly because the bayonet was still folded up closed.

I know I'm going to sound "silly", but you just grip the "handle" part of the bayonet, move it forward, and then swing it down.....you'll see the added movement possible at the base of the handle.

OK, i have figured it out... sorry for the silly post but the bayonet mechanism was stuck so i had to yard on it pretty hard but it finally went.

now i can run around screaming and poking the target after i use up the 5 shots.
