Has anyone bought one of these Norincos with the chrome job on it? If so would you recommend it or get a blue one. Thanks

Benson.

Have you looked at the SAM 1911s? I know that really doesn't answer your question. I owned a SAM 1911 and the quality was excellent for about the same price as a norinco. I haven't shot one only held a couple and I found the SAM 1911s to be much nicer.

I had one (Chrome Norinco) and it was a rather cheaply made pistol that perfectly showed the 'you get what you pay for' metaphor. I'm sure a lot of buyers love their's but I was disgusted by the cheapness and sold it weeks after receiving it. It was entirely my fault for thinking I would get a decent gun for $329. The chrome finish was a joke and the slide release had edges so sharp you could shave with it. For me personally I'd rather spend >$1000 for a nice gun and since i have the money, price isn't an issue. So I'm not sure why I bought Chinese but I know now I will NEVER do that again.

I've got a 5" blued police model and a commander length chrome. Both are equally "decent" on fit and finish. Adjustable sights on the chrome models are nice.
Realistically, they're essentially the same.

Both shoot straight, both function correctly out of the box. For the price, can't ask much more.
