Dude, relax. Temperate Cadpat actually works better in the Kandahar summer as the harvests come in. For that manner, it has it's uses in winter as well.

Our kit is a helluva lot better than a lot of countries out there, especially our rifles. There are few better rifles issued to allies in Afghanistan than our C8 FTHB, period. If you actually did see the above occur, it isn't the kit, it's the pump who didn't secure his gear properly.

It is a FACT that haveing a little slop on the upper to lower on an ar15/m16/C7 platform is not that big a deal when it comes to shooting good grouping.
This platform is intended for shooting center mass at anything for 25 to 300, what i call Min of badguy.
I challange you to a test
You take you LMT, colt , KAC gun with iron sites
Ill let you pic one of my ar15s any one of them put the worse upper and lower together, norinco, home made sgw or any of my good ones.
Lets run down 300m then each shoot our guns.
Then tell me how much a lose upper and lower matters on a combat gun.
Yes its sure nice to have a tight gun, but the wedge is a pain in the ass, make the gun hard to open and in some cases, cants the upper to one side.
What with the name calling, no stranger then yours.

hey there Greg, if your'e happy, then im happy...a soldier came out in public the other day on the news complaining about the equipment , thats when they showed the incident i talked earlier on the forum... a retired major confirmed that the equipment is sometimes not adequate, but the public place was not the place to debate this... they did find people in the army(regulars, both enlisted and comissionned) stating that canadian soldiers were equipped with the best there is out there... i guess it depends who you ask... thx for the clarification...

I put a gummy bear in my norinco once and it shrank my groups with iron sights from 1.5" at 100 to I don't care but boy was that splatter tasty. It's an internet chat group it's not like you're protecting the Queen here, pace yourself before your hart pops.

Ha, I'm mostly happy..... I can tell you first hand from the infantry side of the house that we are issued some unholy pieces of junk, however in respect to camouflage and rifles we are good to go!

I'm the first one to complain about the pure stupidity of our kit acquisition and procurement programs and the unsafe and ineffective junk it produces, so when I give a thumbs up to something it's usually a sign :p

The CF has some of the highest round count rifles I've ever seen, I'm sure that is a common thing in most armies, but I've never shot one that had enough slop between the upper and lower to be an issue. That's why I see the accuwedge as just wasted money from our budget, though I wouldn't dismiss that there could be a place for them civi side, perhaps.

I guess I was over the top and came off the wrong way.

the accuwedge can be a pain, and totally understand why people take them out but they do "work in"

but if you take it out to 500 you will see a difference at least i did, with mine that was as sloppy as my norc. though it might have been a placebo effect I don't know, all i know is people who make the decisions and live and breath this stuff(and not sell it) tell me they work, and i am going to back them up.

as far as others who carry it I have seen 100 different opinions and arguments for and against it , I'm for it

I have never seen a rifle canted but i will be on the watch for it

Regarding respect, I only reciprocate what I get I guess at times I get bent around the axle with peoples "expert" opinions and obviously took it the wrong way

I make my opinion from those very knowledgable on our side of the border as well as the U.S.
I have been told first hand from Crane Armourers as well as members of the Marine and Navy shooting teams they all use them, and the biggest complaint about them is from guys who say "they are hard to break down"

... the original reason of my thread was just to see if other people had the same play as i have in my norinco... i got the answer to that question, and more...

to conclude, play is normal, and it depends on the user to see if it bothers them or not... i plan to try the ear plug to see if there is a difference...or to try the accuwedge if it is avail. on the canadian market. There is a rush at the range where i go right now for the hunting season, will have to wait for mid october to try that out...

I have recently purchased a Norinco M4 as well. The receivers fits nicely on mine but I have heard about the issue you comment on. I have some paint coming off as well on mine. I tell myself it will add character. I have just been browsing the AR 15 catalogue from Brownells (if you do not have these catalogues, go to Brownells.com and get one, its a must and its free to your door) On page 24 (on web site as well Im sure) there is a device called Z-M weapons AR15 Accuwedge which instantly tightens loose upper and lowers receivers. It only costs $4.99 .its a drop in install. No gunsmithing This may help your problem.

yea, the accuwedge has been the subject of discussion on this thread...

so you have the paint flaking as well huh? some sellers put a warning on their site that the paint is not guaranteed for norinco's... i dont think it will affect the performance of your m4 in the long run though; it has done nothing bad for mine so far.
