Norinco CQ-A goes full auto???

I stand corrected. My terminology must be off. I thought a sear was that thing on the shoulder that goes up. ;)

What GT is saying is the sear in the ar15 platform is the auto sear, the disconector is what most would see as the sear on a semi auto ar15.
If it were most other guns you would look at the part as the sear, but on the ar15 its called the disconector.

Well checked and cleaned everything and the gun is all good as far as I can tell. It passed the Trigger verification check and everything is tight. I also brought it to a gunsmith, A good friend of mine, just to make sure and he confirmed it was all good.

I checked my ammo, and noticed some primer having just a small imprint which lead me to the soft primer.

Will take it out again this week with surplus ammo and see if it is ok.

Cheers
Thanks

And this is how guns get put on the prohibited list

Why? The gun is broken and causing a malfunction. There is no credible basis for prohibition.

Most likely your Chinese disconnector is made of pot metal, or somehow it is stuck and not catching the hammer.

The one thing I have seen that certainly replicates FA fire is when the disconnector spring is N/S. The one I saw had the spring ommitted during assembly but if the spring broke or was damaged and otherwise fell out it would do the same thing.

Again, this is a malfunctioning rifle and not true FA fire.

Have that happen when a loved one is shooting it at the range and someone gets hurt. I am glad your stepping up and fixing it, Maybe another cgn'er is having the same problem.

Un-controlled full auto..... Eeeeek.
