Norinco CQ AR 10.5"?

A buddy of mine found hardened grease in his gas tube which created the same problem. After we chipped at it with pipe cleaner(from the kids craft supplies, lol) and dumped alot of Remgrit down it to break it up, a large chunk of grease oozed out. Kinda like being constipated. Lol! It took us a good 20 minutes to get it cleared. We originally started by trying to put the pipe cleaner down and it would only go half way. We knew at that point the gas system was plugged. I would check that too. If it's something you can fix quick, that may be better than sending good it away for a couple of weeks.

I ran some wire down the gas tube, all the way to where it is pinned, its clear, I sprayed wd40 down to see if it flowed freely out the barrel, all clear ,no obstructions.

would there be head space issues if I try my stag bolt/carrier?

that is my last thing I will try before returning it.

I wish you were around London, Ontario. I would love to check it out. As far as head space issues, I doubt it. We have used other bolts in them such as DPMS, RRA, LMT and a Spikes. All functioned well.

They should be fine. I have run various BCG in my norc and all work fine.

If the bolt works fine, you can rest assured it is most likely an extractor issue.

I think you might be missing the nub (9) on the diagram.

i totally agree with returning it. if you buy a gun for $700 new it should work without you haveing to working on it.

i think you just got one of the bad ones. i have both the 14 and 10 and both work grate.

sorry.

Actually I checked, this was an upper I bought as a spare when I bought my 14.5" norinco AR, My wife a daughter wanted their own so I ended up buying the lower the following week so they would use that one.

sooooo, Im hoping they will just exchange this upper or refund my money,

Im going to post on EPPS section to see what they will do

Why don't you just call them or email direct.

I was leaving that as last resort, as sometimes the gunroom is busy as hell. And last nite when I wrote that was occupied with a forest fire not far from my 2nd home (dog house) so wasnt sure if I would be anywhere near phone or net in the next few days.

talked to them today (Thursday 17th), I gotta ship it or bring it in and they will find out from North Sylva if they will exchange it or send for warranty? as long as it doesnt take weeks or months for repairs?

Well, its been down there at EPPS for over 3 weeks, NORTH SYLVA said it was extractor spring issues norinco had with the 10.5 production , well no body had extractor springs there, so brought it back home changed the extractor spring, and it doing the same thing, f**king piece of s**t! Im going to try another spring and try a different bolt, if it is still doing it after this, Im asking for it to be replaced or a refund,

Mine is brand new from SFRC and doing the same thing. I jus ordered a spikes extractor booster, And hoping that solves the problem. If not, perhaps I will buy a new BCG. Although, thAts a little rediculous for a new rifle.

Keep us posted on your journey

yep it is, I bought the upper at Epps, then the lower afterwards, If this dont work Im asking to exchange it for the 14 inch, ill pay the difference.

So how did you guys resolve it? I just got a 10.5 and it ran fine for a bit and then it got dirty and didn't want to extract a round and wanted to feed another one in. It got slightly better after some lube.

Should the bolt in the bcg move freely when I shake it, or not? It does not currently and someone at the range suggested that is the problem

Edit: just took the bolt apart. Sure enough the extractor spring insert is missing. How can such a little part cause so much trouble?

I posted this before, but I think it's worth showing this pic again. Replace the original (incorrect) Norc extractor spring with the correct spring and insert and you're GTG. Installing the rubber O ring is optional, but it doesn't hurt to do so.
