Norinco CQ cleaning rod

Hi Guys,

Anyone know what the (crappy) cleaning rod that comes with a Norc CQ is made of? Is it steel or aluminum?

If it is steel, could it potentially scratch the bore? It was all I had the first couple of times I had to clean the bore of my rifle... Also used it once for patches on my glock barrel when I had nothing else on me.

Have since switched over to an Otis cleaning kit... Much more effective.
 
Parkerized steel. Should be fine for the odd cleaning of a chrome bore. I always use a one piece graphite for cleaning, Otis does a decent job as well.
 
Cool, thanks for the info. Parkerized steel isn't hard enough to scratch a hard chromed AR barrel or tennifer finished glock barrel, correct?
 
Due yourself a favor and just buy a tipton 1 peice rod and itll serve you a life time of not worrying about whether or not your destroying your bore
