Wanted to dress up this Norc into a decent plinker on a budget so here is what it cost me to put this together.

my prices I paid , everything was new, everything bought off this board in the EE. I am not a fan of the size of the DMS-1 but it was what I was going for to come in under budget of $1400.

Norc CQA $650
Millet DMS-1 $300
Burris PEPR Mount $135(new from reliable)
Magpul CTR $130
Magpul MVG $35
Magpul grip $25
Magpul BUIS $55
Magpul Trigger guard $9
Magpul MOE Handguard $45

God I'm old school and like to shoot military Rifles in their original form, but all this picture taking and the nice aRs of all makeson here is starting to make me want to start adding.:)

I plan for a Burris PERP mount ($100 already ordered from Mystic Precision) and a Viper PST ($550 hoping to get one from One Shot) to bring the total to $1702

I'm confused.
The gun all by itself is a decent plinker without any accessories. I'm not knocking everything you put into it, but you've just turned it into like everyone else's tacticooled M4 for twice the amount the gun cost.

Wouldn't a set of rings, scope, extra mags and maybe a free-float handguard been more on a budget? Does the military take their M4A1's and do those mods to them?

I wanted to do up one with accessories for under the price of a name brand AR, that is why it is done up....came in under budget. I am not the Military so not concerned what they do to theirs.

Hang in their Pat it will come, and it will be worth it. I'm always tight because of so many other interests, and am now just recovering from a lenghty period off, so I know your pain, but the AR thing as been a breath of fresh air to my Gun buying habits.
I love the Nork and someday will maybe a Canadian made AR or at least lower and a shorty upper for a treat.:wave:
 
The pistol grip

I magpul pimped my norc as well. The pistil grip was an issue. When I installed it the selector switch wouldn't turn. I reinstalled the orginal grip and no problem. I dont think the channel was deep enough what was ur fix on this.

I had to smoothen out the selector channel grooves, used a dremel , it also made the selector buttery smooth now. It was getting caught up on a rough edge. I had a Colt before and when shooting the two there is no difference in performance I haven't tried good ammunition yet but I am getting decent groups with cheap 55 grain at 100m.
 
Sorry for the dumb question, but I'm new to this platform. Reading the Norc CQ threads, I couldn't find an answer.

Is the length of the gas system "carbine" on the Norc (rather than mid-length?) I assume so, with a 14.5 barrel, but I haven't seen anything that says one way or the other.

Just looking for different handguards, but don't want to get the wrong size.
