Norinco CQ, or Questar Branded AR

I would spend the extra few bucks and get the Questar gun with the RRA lower.

Why spend the extra 100 dollars right away?? I would buy it as is and see if the lower works out and if it does you saved yourself 100 dollars and if it doesnt you can buy a stripped lower for 150 bucks. You have more to gain then lose.

I asked myself this same question a while back, and was leaning toward the Norinco after shooting both. It had better accuracy with 3 diff types of ammo, and the Questar one jammed twice.

With this NEIT arms introduction now I'm going to have to wait, because of 1:7 ROT poly rifling. If a company is smart enough to offer something like this in a standard model, they obviously get it.

Here's another thing to think about...

Norinco is not mil spec. There are several parts and accessories that have to be modified to fit onto the Norinco.

I like the Questar guys, they have been good to me.

I am not anti-Norinco, either, although I'm a bit skeptical of their ARs just because I have seen them fail a bit.

I have no particurlar knowledge of the Questar AR, although my general position is not to touch anythng from Vulcan.

Out of these two, the best answer is probably "get the NEA in a few weeks".

Pony up an extra $300 over the RRA lower/Questar upper and get an LMT Defender instead...

LMT-SPM16-X
LMT - Standard Defender Package (16'), w/standard trigger and stock, 1 x 30/5 mag.
(US State Department - Export Compliant model)
Stock: 5
Price: $1,289.99

I really don't know how so many could be left... Questar brings in some great AR's, up there with Colt in regards to quality, and at an unbeatable price... but nobody buys them...

OK, for the record, I have owned a Norc AR - I ran it with an Armalite Lower, I ran it with the Norc Lower and a Stag LPK, I fitted a Magpul stock, I fitted Ergo, Magpul and Hogue grips, I fitted a free float rail, I ran it with a Vickers Sling using Dlask, and OSTS sling mounts. North American parts do fit. The Norc I had was a great gun, reliable and shot well. That said - wait for the NEA and get a Canadian Manufactured AR, for a few bucks more - I know some people don't like the idea of Chinese made products, but let's face it the Chinese are only as foreign as the Americans (check the passport) with NEA we're talking Made in Canada - that is worth a little extra.

Care to show your source on Venezuela?
I know the PRC did give out military aid to Paraguay for them to lessen ties with Taiwan.

True, AND they have some CQs - probably to blame the US for "raids."

I add Paraguay too.

I read an article about it and it showed Chavez with one. I thought "How ironic." No I can't find it now. I'd love to, given your insistance that I am wrong. Believe what you want.

x4. well said...

That being said, I got my New Norinco M4 today and ran 120 rounds through it. I didn't experience one FTF or FTE or any other stoppages. I know, 120 rounds ain't nothin'. But I'm impressed for the $600 shipped (no tax) I paid for it. I'm very, very very very happy.

Hey, if SHTF, they're going to take your AR15 from you regardless of what you own, so forget about needing a 60,000 round without FTF AR15... There's no point, IMO. in a WORL/SHTF situation, the gov't is gonna take your piece anyway. So, might as well just have a nice shotty or Winchester 94 for those purposes....

Although, I can appreciate a fellow who just "has a thing" about owning a finely machined piece of equipment (for some people it's cars, for some it's watches, for some it's AR15's).

For my purposes, the Norinco AR15 IS AWESOME!!
