Please bear with me as I am not an expert on slings and things. After asking the question here at Gunnutz other contributors have squared me away on how to actualy put the provided sling on my CQ (many thanks). My next call for help is this, it looks like I need a "upper reciever back plate" so the sling can be mounted properly and the weird little sheet metal hook can clip onto. Right now the sling just slides along and is great at self garroting yourself. Where can I find this plate?
Next is at the front end of the sling there is a C9 type clip that attaches to the bottom mounted front sling swivel. Has anybody ever drilled out that front/bottom swivel and mounted it at the side? That way the nylon sling could be made simpler by getting rid of the C9 clip and cut down on the rattling. Many thanks in advance.
