do i need any type of conversion to change the norinco but stock to a regular a1 or a2 gi butt? also any one sell straight body 5/20 round mags? thank you fella's as always a wealth of info, regards king66

Can't comment on the stock, but 5/20 mags show up in the EE frequently. Just keep your eyes peeled and be patient.

Retap

You need to re-tap one or the other, meaning your stock or your receiver. Norinco is metric and GI are imperial. If you don't want to re-tap you can always just cross-thread the stock buffer tube as I did using the receiver as your threading device. It takes some time and patience but it can be done. I would only do it on a cheap aftermarket stock though as GI ones cost more.

fab sports sells the adapter. I still havent got around to buying one for my cq. I dont have any plans of changing the stock yet, but I might one day

thanks fella's, so i can't just change the butt itself? using the butt only and the norc tube and screw? not using the a1 or a2 tube,buffer or screws? i see fab sports sells a adapter but is that to put on a adjustable car/m4 type butt on the rifle rifle? again thank you. regards, king66

I had a CQ a while back and changed out the furniture (installed a1 buttstock, pistol grip and triangular handguards). Use the original hardware and just swap out the plastic parts... You'll be good to go... HTH's.

btw- havent heard high speed low drag since doing helops with the 10th mnt div, almost 20 years ago.lol
