Are these things still out there? Does anybody still sell these new? I'm thinkin of the AR with the weird pistol grip and stock. What are the average prices on these things? Can't seem to find any info on these things Canada specific. Any info on these things would be great, thanks.

There is a thread titled "norinco M4" in this section, scroll down to the bottom.

Frontier firearms has some as well as arms east and I'm sure others. I think maybe canada ammo, click the advertisements above for links to the sites.

The pistol grip and stock are pretty standard for an AR and are hardly weird in any respect. California legal pistol grip/stock combos are weird.

Average price is 900$ cndn.

I paid $500 plus gst/pst several years ago for a "new" one...
Word at the time was that these rifles stopped production in the late 80's (88?) so any rifle sold as "new" these days might be "un-used", but in fact is at least 20 years old.. :)

yeah I think Norinco gave up production of the CQ311 in exchange for the drawings of the 1911.

yeah it has a slow twist rate, I think either 1/12 or 1/15? Plus I think some of the parts on it are metric fittings as well. I would think they are worth about $700 ish "new"

x2, mine was around the five hundred dollar mark. Cheap way to start into the AR world. Mine has been very reliable probably over 1000 rounds so far no stoppage. Fit and finish is not the best. From what I hear the M4 style ones are much nicer, but also double in price.

Have one

I have one of the CQ311 that I purchased for $500 plus tax. I changed the stock to a retractable, the handguard to an A2 style and a G27 grip.

Twist rate is 1 in 12 so mine works best with 55gr bullets. The barrel is chrome lined so it should last a lifetime. The forward assist is crap and works sometimes. The finish is debatable but after seeing Undergiver's I may have a project in the making. The gun is very reliable and very accurate for a $500 AR type rifle.

Note all the screws as far as I've been able to try are metric, some may have imperial as well.
