Hey guys so I did end up getting that AR-15 I was asking about a while back! I took it to the range this morning after I picked it up, I just gave it a bit of oil and a wipe down, took it apart, got the cloth out of the major parts and whatnot. However, as soon as I started shooting I kept getting consistent FTF. I am unsure if the feed ramps on the rifle were causing it, or if it was the brand new XCR 10 round mags that I was using. Is this common with a new Norinco AR-15 that hasn't had a good once over? Thanks guys!

Oh and one more thing guys. The safety selector on my rifle is slightly off when pointing at safe and semi. It looks like / when it should look like | if that makes any sense. Is there any way to fix that DIY? It's not really and issue at all it's just my OCD haha. Thanks again!

maybe not an issue now but it may become one.
Disassemble it and inspect the pins.

-remove the grip (watch out for the safety detent and spring)
-remove safety detent and spring, save
-unscrew right side safety
-remove safety assembly from left side
-inspect detent and safety
-reassemble if everything seems in order

It had problems chambering the first round, but when it did, it did fire, and the bolt was caught up on the second round after firing. It looked like the spring in the magazine was too tight, causing the rounds to lock up on eachother, hence the FTF.

My 10.5 prefers a pretty wet bolt. I made sure the rings had oil on them to help them seal. I run the firing pin dry. It's a fun one to shoot.

Another question guys, in front of the gas block under the front post sight there is a piece that moves back and forth, is this supposed to do that? Thanks.

I've got the same issue with mine with some .223 ''hollow point'' 45g from remington using the 2 5 rounds factory mags but never happend with some 5/30 aftermarket mags. Otherwise never got any FTF or doublefeed the the stardard 5.56mm ball round (m193) from Korea or American Eagle .223 55g.
