Norinco CQA vs Type 97 rifle

Which is better in reliability,accuracy and durability???
how you compare them

From my experience with the two, the AR is far more reliable.
If I had to pick, I would take the Type 97 though. Non restricted means a lot to me.
I can't really comment on accuracy because I use cheap norc in both.

If restricted is not an issues, get the Norinco AR - if it is an issue, get the T97. I'm not sure how you would compare them, they are completely different guns.

I have a CQA and with a red dot and I hit good targets at a 100 meters no problem. Also I have I have run much more expensive AR's like colts, and the CQA stands up, and you can't beat that price. Furthermore, you can never go wrong with the AR-15 platform when your looking for after market stuff. You can buy replacement/upgrade parts anywhere, you can't do that with the Type-97.

I have both and the only reason I'm considering selling my t97 is lack of spare parts if something were to break

I shot probably 2000 rounds from my T97 with zero issues. Hardly any signs of wear so I'm not exactly concerned about parts breaking before they should.

The design is very simplistic and robust, being able to get replacement bolts or firing pins would be nice. (just in case)

Restricted status is a biggie. Aside from range only the ATT has lots of restrictions on transport.

I'd take the CQ-A. If you prefer NR however the T97 will get the job done.

I dont get it...
its range only therefore the att doesnt matter since its range only.

I have both, I dont shoot either often enough but niether has let me down. I do love the fact I can take the T97 up to the moose camp to play with it in the pit and I could use it for hunting if I wanted to.

I have one of those 20" Norincos and it is the most accurate AR I've ever shot... And I'm doing it with iron sights. They know how to make an AR.

The T97 is a rifle designed to be easy and inexpensive to produce in massive number to hand out to millions of conscripts who probably spend more time on a parade ground then in the sticks. It's feather-light and well balanced. Mine was extremely reliable, easily breaks down into simple, large parts, and it's probably the easiest semiauto rifle to clean I've ever seen.

It does what it's designed to do, go bang and not break. But it has no finesse. The sights, already a poor design, are even shoddier on the versions the Canadian Market gets. The trigger is light and smooth but does not break predictably. These are things that seriously effect accuracy, and the striker system probably doesn't help.

Just know what to expect, and you'll like it a lot. I liked mine!
