I wonder if CZ's Kadet .22cal conversion kit for their CZ75 and 85 pistols will fit the Norinco copies of those pistols (NZ75, NZ85.) Have any of you tried it or heard of anyone who has tried it?

Has anyone here got a Norinco NZ75 or 85 and any opinion of them? The chance of applying a CZ Kadet conversion isn't critical to my eventual decision to buy one of these pistols or not. I think I'd like a CZ, but I really want a Browning Hi-Power when I can afford it. Meanwhile, I'm tempted by the Norinco price for something I'd like but am not so stuck on that I'd be dissatisfied that my CZ was only a copy.

There are enough people happy with their Norincos to make me comfortable with them in general, but anecdotal reviews it seems that Norinco does a better job on some designs than on others.

I have one, and it shoots great. Aside from the stigma of being a norc, its a fine 9mm pistol. The fit and finish isn't bad either.

Thanks, dent. There are worse stigma.

Do you have the 75 or the 85? And in CZs or Norincos, do you know if the only functional difference between the 75 and 85 is the ambidextrous safety, or am I missing something else? I notice the hammer shapes are different on the Norincos.

The 85 includes adjustable sights and a free-dropping magazine...

(Don't forget that the Norinco is not welcome in the United States.)

The NZ slide is slightly higher but I am not sure if the width was different, it would be interesting to try it out, I will ask if anyone has the conversion at my range and try it out.

Thanks for all the input.

As best as I can tell from CZ's website, the 85B appears to have fixed sights, while the 85 Combat has an adjustable rear sight.

As best as I can tell from Marstar's website, the Norinco NZ85 copies the CZ85B, having fixed sights.

(This is all moot for me until my dentist tells me how much that popcorn I had last week is going to end up costing me, but while I am sure my long sought Browning Hi-Power is out of reach again, I am comforting myself with the hope that an NZ75 or 85 might be possible in the interim, and if that happens and if I like it I may eventually wish to replace my Ruger Mk1 with a CZ Kadet conversion for the Norinco.)
