Norinco designation: M-14S or M305 ?

Mine reads...

M14 .308
CJA SFLD MICH
NORINCO Made in China 0020XX

It's registered as a M14 S, but that's NOT what's on the reciever...

It's parkerized, and here is a pic... I just got it, my wife bought it for my B-day on Sunday!!!

On the shipping box it says M-14 S

Maybe the "S" in the M14S designation is required by the CFC for registration, in order to distinguish semi-auto rifles from the genuine military full-auto variant... ?

Heres some pics of mine Ive been told its a rather odd or rare one. Nothing really special but not very common at the same time.

Its definetly Norinco according to a very knowledgeable source about these guns.

Its not century or polytech.

Its the best semi I have ever owned.
