Which Generation was that? The Gen 5 has a new trigger group, a new slide and a new frame to compete with the newer designs such as the PPQ, 320, FN, HK XD and APX to name a few. I guess other than those changes the gun is the same as the Gen 3/4. The Gen 5's don't even use Tennifer coating anymore which is a real shame given it's well deserved bullet proof reputation. Doesn't Girsan make a close copy of the Glock? Not sure why I think that. Girsan and Canik seem to copy just about every thing else.

Wish they would bring back the 17 Gen 2 with no finger grip stupidity.
I keep waiting to see if the next Gen 47 or whatever they are at is going to lose those finger grooves.
My hand doesn't like the spacing of the grooves they started moulding into their grips post Gen 2 :(

Yup. They are the enemy and not worth supporting for cheap goods. They are currently a trade enemy and quite possibly a future military enemy.

And $800 aprox MSRP to boot....interesting.
Any info on when they are expected to physically arrive? Looks like nothing but "pre-sales". Travis Bickle don't "pre-sale".

Norc CQ/CQA's are in use with the militaries of Paraguay (Special Forces), Cambodia (regular army and SF) , China (Special Forces), Iran (Revolutionary Guards), Myanmar, Philippines, Senegal, Sudan, South Sudan, Djibouti - there are a few more, but basically it's the M4 of the third world. It's certainly in service as a front line weapon with more militaries than the "boutique" high end civvy AR's made in the US. I'd imagine their Glock clone will be popular with the police forces of the same countries - especially given that the unit price in quantity could be under $100 US.

Norinco AR's are out in the s**t for real all over some of the worst meat grinders going. No doubt about that.
I don't think I've ever seen a single problem with any of the Norinco AR's to be honest in all the years of them being brought into Canada. No hard failures, no critical component issues. I've owned two over the years and we used to shoot crates of the Norc 5.56 through them. I can recall putting almost 800 rounds through one in a day shooting fast and hard on steel plates out to 200 meters with one of the old CQA M4's. Never cleaned them, just added more oil and wipe off once every couple of months.
I have a 20" pencil barrel off a DA556 on my M16A1 clone now. It's extremely accurate and I shoot it until it's burning. It just keeps going.

I currently don't own any Norc firearms anymore except for my barrel on M16A1 clone. But their straight up military clones of the AR15 and the 1911's are rock solid and made for the distance.
There was a guy on here that used one as demo/fun gun for the range he belonged to. CQA M4 clone with 10's of thousands of rounds through it and it's still going with zero issues aside from wear.
