Norinco homeland security 870 quality?

The HP9 is worth it! The 780 is not worth $275 when they have sold for $90 NEW from one of the dealers (can't remember who).
The HP9 is built like a brick sh$t house just like the Norinco 1911s.
 
Homeland Security 870 for over $100 is too much. It is poorly built, is not interchangeable with many of the 870 parts when it breaks (and it will break lol). Very rough edges, etc

HP9 I have found no different from the original Rem870, I find them comparable from my experience of use

$275? Don't do it! I might do it if it were free. Lots of GOOD shotguns around for that kind of money or less, picked up another Maverick88 for $219, awesome gun for the money!
 
I got a Norinco 97-1 for about that price 3 years ago, and apart from swapping out the original flimsy folding stock with a synthetic one, I have had zero problems with it. Very reliable, chews up everything from birdshot to 3 inch magnum slugs without a single issue.

Is it an 870 Clone (ie. HP9) or a Homeland Security 780?

If its a 780, I picked up two of those for less than $275 new... and they are both garbage...

Even after polishing the crap out of the chamber, they still fail to eject the good rounds (Winchester AA) and the cheap stuff...

$275 can get you something far nicer, maybe look at a Maverick 88 for example, should be able to find one of those new, shipped, with taxes in for that price...

If it's an HP9 I would say the general consensus is it's a decent gun, quality on the whole sounds good... but even then $275 for a used one... I dunno

Don't, just don't. You can get a Dominion Arms 12.5 from site sponsors for $299.

Do yourself a favour and use the search function. Use "homeland" for keywords, search in forum "Black and Green Shotguns" and pull down to 3 years ago and newer. Pay particular attention to the thread "so... my shotgun blew up today"

I don't think the HP9 was EVER called homeland ANYTHING. If it's a straight up HP9, that's okay too, but "homeland security" shotguns are garbage.
 
So the norinco/dominion are that much better? Wonder why Epps is selling the 780 for $275 used then.
I was bad and picked up a 780 today for $100. If Epps is offering 275 for a used one i might take it to them and get my 70%? Trade value and put it to something else safer.

I have had my eye on a 12.5" Dominion ghost ring for some time...
Any word on their mag fed models?
 
The HP9/Grizzly and 780 Homeland Security are all Norinco, but the latter is junk. The former are on par with or superior to a Remington 870 Express by all accounts, barring the finish. Buy a Norinco HP9 or Dominion Grizzly with confidence. Don't buy a Homeland Security 780 if you want something that will work or last.

If I remember correctly, one of the sponsors was selling 780s in pairs....One that sort of worked, one for parts. That's not to say SOME of them aren't decently reliable, but it seems like luck of the draw in terms of getting one made of all the right parts.
 
The one i have apparently has been deburred etc and cycles reliably but the slide action is heavy and a little rough. Safety is super light???
I will seriously consider trading up to the Dominion.

It is LITERALLY the only gun I've ever owned (100+) that I absolutely DESPISE! It's a huge steaming pile of crap. Terrible finish, sharp (like razor) edges, gritty cycling... I wouldn't take one if someone gave it to me. Honestly. That bad.

If you paid $275 for that POS, you deserve to get hammerfisted in the nuts.

epps had another one for $300 earlier with hogue stock. they really dont realize the piece of crap they have and are selling it as an 870 copy when it is not. sad to be the person who buys it.......
 
I purchased one of the Dominion Arms Grizzly shotguns from Canada Ammo & it works without a hitch. I would buy it again in a heartbeat!

WRT the 780 homeland security, do a search, they are NOT the gun to buy!
