anybody know where to get a tube stop for a norinco hp-9? remmington parts dont work and calling china is a little bit difficult.

Thanks

Dave

Uh, what do you mean 'tube stop'? The little plunger that fits in the end to prevent the mag spring from flying out?

The remington ones should work. If not, just reassemble without that little part. It will work without it fine, but just be careful when you remove the cap... SPROINGGGGGGG across the room!

If you are referring to the magazine spring retainer, there are two different versions that I am aware of. ONE is the older version that is a springy split cup , and is held by spring tension when the magazine cap is removed . The other I believe is plastic and requires little dimples on the inside of the mag tube to hold it in place. The older one is probably what you are looking for.

I know there is different versions on an 870 (have one of each), but I've never seen the 'old style' on an HP-9. My HP-9 has the newer style, and all the other HP-9's are the same.

Have you seen the old style on an HP-9 before? Or are you talkin 870's in general?

Drill the dimples out and use the Remington spring retainer.

RePete.

+1. The new Remington/Norinco detent retainer is just a cost saving measure to best use MIM mag caps and speed manufacture. They suck ass and prevent mag tube extension use without "modification" (ie, drilling out the detents).
