Norinco Interchangeability

Will standard colt parts such as springs, barrel bushing, hammer, firing pin, grip safeties all be interchangeable between original colts and the np-29 9mm and the norinco 1911 commander or will because the 9mm barrel is smaller wont be interchangeable with a 45 barrel bushing and springs?

Most parts interchange. The ejectors are different and thus the slide of a 9mm has to be cut to clear it - i.e. a 45 slide will not work on a frame with a 9mm/38super ejector, but a 9mm/38Super slide generally will work on a 45 frame, but may not eject empties. Barrel of 9mm is usually slimmer and requires a smaller bushing opening, but some manufacturers (Numrich Arms/Thompson make 9mm barrels at the same dimensions externally as the 45.. All that being said, the rest of the parts do interchange.
