Hey guys,

have a question about a Nork AR15. Gun has been good to date. However today out at the range i was shooting, fired a few mags no problem, then i loaded another and it fired 3 rounds fine, then loaded the 4th, pulled the trigger, and 4+5 went off. Ok, i thought, that was weird... load a new mag, pull the trigger, and 4 rounds go off, then it chambered the 5th....i stopped firing after that.

What is happening to cause this. Little bit surprised to say the least. I packed it up, and went home after that. Only thing i can think of wrong with the gun is last time i pulled it all apart, i took all the LPK out, and then reassembled it much later, and found the safety selector to be loose and wobbly. Like it had no positive click to it. I ordered a brand name LPK, tried to swap it, but being a norinco, the safety selector didnt fit... so i ordered a new nork one, and it is the same thing. I figured since i dont use the safety anyways, it should be ok. apparently it is not. any help is great!

maybe try and take some pics of the inside of your lower? do you just take it apart or did you use instructions?

just take a picture and let someone else see if they think anything looks wrong.
if your gun is firing burst shots like that it sounds like the disconnector is getting stuck. maybe your safety is pinning it down?

what parts are you using in the lower right now? a mix of stuff? norinco triggers are different from the ones you get in milspec kits. the norc ones are full auto but the parts kits from other companies are semi auto.

ok so upon disassembling the gun i have noticed the disconnector was cocked to the side a bit. Then i noticed that the trigger/disconnector pin had walked out a bit causing the disconnector to be off to the side a bit. Maybe that was the cause?

Could be.

Maybe it was off to the side just enough to catch the hook on the hammer for a split second and then release it after the bolt slammed into full battery.

Stranger stuff has happened. I had an adjustable AR15 trigger in my AR180b a ways back. The pull screw had backed out over time and it fired a couple 2-3 round bursts.

Could be very dangerous if it's due to mechanical faults in the firearm like these.

I would expect that is the issue.

ok thanks guys!!,
i am still puzzled with the safety issue, and it being wobbly. I have tried 2 different norinco ones, and a name brand one. name brand would not fit under the trigger, as the nork ones have a slot milled in them it looks like. I have ordered a new detent and spring, as well as a whole new LPK. the safety wobbles from fire to where auto would be like a quarter of the way to that position, and a quarter of the way towards safe. when it is on safe it does not wobble. also it is very hard to move to safe. ???

do you have an after market grip on it? some times the hole in them is more shallow and compresses the spring to much. clean out and oil the detent hole and trim down the spring if you have to.

okay. take your old grip and see how far the spring should stick out. then trim or put something in there to make it the right size.

It still shouldn't be "wobbling" in between fire select settings.
Look at the flat side of the fire selector.
Is there a space between the hole in the the receiver where the selector passes through and the actual selector itself?
What I mean is is there a gap at all between the hole in the receiver and the flat side of the fire selector? Or is it a snug tight fit?

A couple guys I know have their ARs shoot much faster if their trigger pin breaks.

Not quite so fun when you`re not expecting it to happen
