just wondering if anyone has had any problems or quirks with the norinco copy, ybl12 model? [or something like that]. I want to buy one but i just want to know whats up with them from you guys & gals. thanx

I'll try to let you know, I have one en-route to put through its paces. they have a rep for being rough, and going by internet gossip, feed problems seem common to some of them.

they are heavy, dont feed that well. I shot about 4 rounds of skeet with mine. lots of fun ( even hit some doubles were hard) At 25 yd buck shot was all over. Slugs shot well. Sold mine got new toy. AJ

Mine was a little rough and had a few feeding issues at first, but the more I shot it the better it got, Its pretty reliable now

50 rounds through mine today. Only one failure to eject due to me short-stroking it in rapid fire.

It is HEAVY. A real ithaca has more material milled away off the sides and the front of the receiver is blended up towards the action bars. Also, the barrel profile is heavier on the clone.

My 19: Norithaca 37 is a good bit heavier than my real 28" Ithaca M37.

The amount of machining on the Norinco is impressive for the cost. no dount. But many of the internals are MUCH rougher. They smooth out alot with use.

Are they worth $200? I think so. But not much more than that ;)

thanx for the info, picked one up but havent shot it yet, looks well built complete with slug sites & synthetic stock & 3" chamber. if it works good it should be good value, had a lot of norinco junk in the early years, but they seem to be getting better. love my SKS's no problems at all, It seems the trick must be to smooth em out with lots of rounds, ill try my best & let you know
