I was wondering what model CZ rifle this was based on? And where I can find some extra 5 or 10 rounds mags, PM me if you dont want to give away your secret supplier ;)

I have the Norinco Backpacker, it's a JW15 cut down as far as I know. It takes the CZ452 mags, ordered my 2 x 5-rounders from Reliable Gun in Vancouver...they work flawlessly and feed .22lr and longs equally well.

Thanks for info guys, I just bought one from a site sponser and just got it in the mail with NO MAG!, Iam sure they will help fix the issue but I can get a hold of them. I guess I'll have to shoot it single shot for a while :(

If your dealer is sending you a 10-shot Norinco mag, do yourself a favor and just order the CZ mags. You could hold-off until you see how sh***y the 10-round mag is then not shoot your gun until your newly-ordered CZ mags come-in...or just take my advice. :) I took my 10-rounder apart, cleaned (much-needed) de-burred, polished, lightly oiled...and the POS still wouldn't load more than 3 rounds reliably. That's right, I said a "10" shot magazine won't reliably feed 4 or more shots.

Love the gun now though! :)

I'll second "rustysdream" and Reliable, both great to deal with.
I've got the 5 and 10's in metal and plastic and the original Norinco one. They all work great in both the backpacker and my CZ 452.

I have been considering buying one of these rifles.
Any comments on the trigger pull ??

Thanks

The trigger is not too bad, it is a little heavy but I think with time it will smooth out once it has a few hundred rounds through it. Not the worse trigger I have felt by a long shot.

Another question about JW15 with the 13-inch barrel: can the front sight be removed easily ?

If I get one, I'd like to put a rail on the barrel to mount a scope. But since the barrel is so short, it looks like the front sight might get in the way.

It's a great little rifle, but the stock sights deeply suck. The front sight mount appears to be screwed to the barrel. The dovetail cut for the rear sight is slightly bigger than 3/8's. I installed the williams firesight. It shoots high. The receiver really needs to be tapped to take a rail.

The gun is quite accurate and 15 minutes with a dremal polisher will smooth the bolt out. The trigger is very nice for the price of the gun.
