Norinco JW-15A bolt won't go in! Update

I'd just contact Tenda like you said and chat Bout a solution or a return.
I had a defective rifle a while back and Tenda was great dealing with to exchange it for another. Hope you sort it soon.
Yup, sent them pictures and description and it's on the way back for a replacement. I'll report back when the next one arrives!

Yes I'm quite familiar with how bolt actions work and this is my third JW-15A. The issue is the sear doesn't drop far enough into the bolt channel when the trigger is pulled...sticks up 5mm. It's a Brno clone. Anyway, it's on the way back to Tenda as we speak! 👍
Cool. Thought it was worth mentioning just in case. Hope you can get it sorted out easily with Tenda.

I’m sorry to hear that. I was hoping you could tell me how to fix mine. It’s doing the same thing.

Hi John, is yours brand new? This is not a fixable problem as far as I can tell. If the sear sticks up into the bolt channel with the trigger pulled, the bolt won't go in. I sent pictures and description to Tenda and they immediately agreed to accept it as an exchange. Yes, I'm trying another one!

Update: I returned this rifle to Tenda and asked for a replacement. I asked them to inspect the replacement before sending to ensure function. The new one arrived. Yes, the bolt would go in, buuuut, it would not open or go back to cycle without the use of a rubber mallet! I sh$t you not. I couldn't believe it. This is why I seldom buy new guns of any sort. Anyway, I sent this one back and told them I'm giving up on Norinco JW-15A.... this shipment is no good! I fortunately found a used one on the EE last week and grabbed it. Interesting... it's a 5 shot mag, maybe a replacement. Almost flush. So buyer beware on the new JW-15As!

After getting two in a row with a bent barrel (no kidding, could not drift the sights far enough on either of them, the dealer hooked me up with the distributor and they to their gunsmith. He tried multiples from that shipment, and finally found one that really shot straight. He sent me that rifle with the test target. It was like you described your second rifle. I called them, and the gunsmith told me that it would break in; and that if I wanted to speed the process up, do some polishing and deburring. I took his advice and had a rifle the did smooth out, and shot as well as my 452 and 455s I bought later. The JW went down the road, then new owner got a great rifle and was very happy. No regrets. :}

Quite the journey Meroh. I don't have the patience or skills to do what you did but I guess I could have tried at least! I could immediately see blue stripped away from bolt movement, top of bolt handle and bolt slot...obviously some extra metal. I ended up with a nice used one so my JW-15A fix is dealt with. Hopefully it's a shooter..

I ended up returning mine to gotenda - I asked for a replacement that they refunded my purchase instead. I suspect they may have got a whole bunch of lemons. It’s too bad. Nice looking gun for a couple hundred bucks. I did order an NR 15 at the same time. Other than the nice creepy 10 pound trigger pull and a bolt that sounds like it’s grinding on sand, it’s a pretty decent gun when you factor in the price.
