Norinco JW-20 optic mounts

Just generally looking for optic-mounting advice for the takedown Norinco JW-20 (the Browning copy).

Thanks in advance!

You have two options I know of. Both of them require the rear sight be removed and use the pretapped holes in the barrel before and after the rear sight.

1. the weaver made mount #60A which is made for the browning SA-22, with picatinny/weaver mount mounting surface. Costs around $15. works very well.

2. the browning made mount #12333 for the sa-22, with a rimfire 3/8" dovetail grooves on top. Costs around $70. works very well. "Looks" nicer.

I prefer the first one.

Excellent - "Option 1" ordered!

Any advice on removing the rear sight?

Dovetail?
Tap it out from the left side over to the right as holding the rifle aiming for reference.
Use a soft punch, brass.
And vewy vewwy carefully.

I thought I'd resurrect this thread as the JW-20's are on sale at tenda at the moment. The best place to find the Weaver #60A mount is Canadian tire for $16 where it is regularly stocked.

Here is a link:

You'll pay double that from amazon.

Thank you for this. I was about to pull the trigger on this one from amazon... looks like I will be swinging by Cambodian Tire on the way home from work. Cheers.
