Norinco JW-20 - Unbelievable price!!

anyone know what the threading is on this rifle?

You're asking about the 'muzzle break' thread, right?
I was wondering about that too but my rifles haven't arrived yet. I will take one of the screws to Home Depot and check the thread at the nuts and bolts section unless, someone will chime in with the measurement before.

Maybe one day we Canadians will be able to use the threaded barrel for something useful and beneficial to the sonic environment.
I'd love to see the Liberal and NDP take on that concept!

I managed to lose the recoil spring guide(#31)when cleaning my JW 20,looked high and low.....where can I get another one?

Brownells, though I may have seen that as "out of stock".
Parts are reasonable.

You could also try Canada Ammo as they may be able to scavenge some parts from the returned duds.

Anybody having issues with the rifle? Mine won't cycle. It dosent eject the shell and has a hard time feeding the first round when the bolt is pulled back and dropped. When the magazine tube is fully loaded and I hold the gun bottom up pull the bolt back all the shells come flying out at my face. The rifle is as clean as it can get and feels nice and tight when it's put together. Kind of at a loss here. Any ideas?

Chinese guns are hit and miss....sounds like yours is miss and in need of tuning. Shell stop would be the first thing I'd look at with your symptoms and also the spring that extends through the cartridge guide into the feed channel.
Does the mag tube plunger close easily or do you have to force it back in?
Watch this guy's two video's, he does a good job of explaining things and pointing out some relevant tuning issues. (start watching @ 8min 30 seconds if you are in a hurry... :)

Thread is 1/2-20 UNF. Mine cycles CCI quiets without a hitch...did a full detail clean with brake solvent, lube with G96. Detail clean includes removal of all wood! No cosmoline left in any part of the gun. Set barrel to enter receiver as close to cartridge guide as possible. Did not have to alter any of the parts. Not as smooth as my old browning, But cannot beat the price..bought two!! Cheers Frank

Checked the vid and the rifle. It is missing the cartridge stop. Problem solved. Next problem= finding a cartridge stop.

Definitely wasn't there to begin with. Noticed the two funny holes the first time I took it apart. I'll contact canam and see what they think.

The reason, apart from carelessness, that I lost the recoil spring guide was I was stripping it down and giving it a thorough cleaning which I learned from the first JW 20,it doesn't cycle well until you do that.I knew the spring was under tension, but the guide being covered in oil squirted out of my hand and went flying across the room.Be darned if I can find it even though I heard it land. What I did on the first one was cover it in a towel, then carefully release it which caught it.Should have done that on this one....would have saved me a lot of grief

I was so pleased with the first one ,I just ordered the second one. I hope the fit and finish would be as good as the first one.

The second JW 20 I ordered for my son is just as good as the first one. From the video comparison between the Browning I was expecting something quite a bit less,so am very pleasantly surprised.Did their quality controll improve,or was this from a diferent factory with higher standards?

I have not degreased either of mine, but I am very happy with the way they look! One little scratch on one of them on the metal, but nothing to complain about... Can't wait to get mine from under the Christmas tree & PLAY WITH IT!!!

Cheers
