One of my friends has one
The "adjustable" rear sight on the one he's got seems like it's welded together or something, won't budge in the least. It isn't terrible for accuracy, at least at 25-50 yards. As long as you're aiming 2" to 4" to the left of what you want to hit.
He got it for under a hundred bucks used so he's not too pissed, but I'm not sure I'd drop $180 on a brand new one...
Could on the other hand, be a one-off, and most are fine?

I've got one and like it. It goes to the range with me on most trips.
Shoots around 3/4 inch at 40 meters, works well on the swinger targets.
Looks good, very light, smaller than it looks in the pictures.
Lots of sharp edges on the action when I got it - took the edges off with a small diamond file.
The sight is adjustable for elevation only. The front sight must be drifted for windage. The military style ladder sight is quick and easy to adjust for range changes. I am going to look at thinning the front sight down a bit.
A scope is going to need very high rings to clear the bolt handle.
I'm happy with it, a good iron sight gun, good practice gun.

Not really. The bolt is about 50 degrees to the horizontal when opened.
I've installed a cheapie Bushnell 22lr scope with mounts on it.
The bolt handle and does not interfere with the scope.
I've even removed the rear sight since the mounts were low

I've got a JW-27, which is the same action, just with BRNO lookalike furniture. The bolt handle wiggles a lot, the trigger hits the trigger guard towards the rear end of its travel, and there are toolmarks all over the place inside the action and underneath the wood where you normally wouldn't see them. All things considered though, it's a good cheap little .22, reasonably accurate with iron sights and deadly at 25 yards with a scope. It doesn't like cheap ammo very much due to all the sharp edges, but it's a good little rifle.
As long as you know what you're getting into, I say go for it. Marstar sells 9 round magazines for those things too, just to sweeten the deal. Enjoy!

I picked one [JW23]up in 22 magnum, the finish is not up to my BRNO 22lr by any means but it shoots pretty well-good for a truck gun,which is what we wanted it for.The thing is, you match the gun to your needs.
What I would like to find out is information on the EM 332 target version
