Norinco JW15 backpacker

Looks like a neat little plinker. Not sure how it's going to be accuracy wise as the front and rear sights are so close together. I guess it'll be as accurate or better than a pistol with the same sight radius with the added stability of a shoulder stock. But like I said, that's just a guess; I've never fired a rifle that short before so I really have no idea.
I guess you'll just have to buy one and then post up a full review for us to read!
I can't use regular open sights-so a scope,or fiber optic sights is my only option.I was checking the trigger on my other Norinco-a 22 magnum, and it wasn't bad.I also noticed I had a Bushnell .22 ''varmint'' scope on it-very compact,and that should go nicely.Its a bit of a toss up-this or a Ruger 10/22 compact

They've come up with some interesting variations of the JW15-which is the BRNO knockoff -a synthetic thumbhole stock-and now this short version...
One of the biggest complaints was the rough finishing on the wood stocks [my other one looks like a shovel handle,but it shoots OK]-but the synthetic stocks should deal with that.If its as good as the .22 synthetic stocks offered by the rest of the manufacturors,it will be acceptable for what they all are-strictly utilitarian.You want nice wood-you pay for it

Nope! the barrel is less than 16"... They'd be considered an NFA item and would require the purchaser to be fingerprinted and pay a $200 transfer tax.

I bought mine from moreguns supply yesterday, cant wait for it to arrive. Heard it was a solid little rifle, should be perfect for backpacking and ATV'ing.
I think adding a scope kinda detracts from the idea of having such a small compact rifle. What would you suggest for a good, low profile rear peep sight? It'd be nice to not have to change the front sight for something overly tall.

Not a problem. I'm sure someone else will provide a review before I get mine but I'll pm you my thoughts after I handle and shoot her.
fine-if you can shoot without a scope-I can't anymore-my eyes simply don't focus on open sights.I've tried to find the Bushnell Varmint scope-very compact-doesn't look like they offer it anymore,but it would be perfect for this rifle

if the trigger is anything like my normal JW15 then it breaks clean with not alot of creep, but has an exceptionally long follow-through

Got one the first day they came into the shop I work at. We sold out of them in 4 days!
Fenix.NZ is right about the trigger, same as the old ones. It breaks clean but lots of follow through.
A friend of mine shot it with lots of success, this is one accurate little rifle.
We have another 16 on order and expect them to sell out just as fast.
