Hello,
Just bought a 12" jw2000, and love it. But out of the box, I had a problem that is relatively easy to fix. I haven't been able to find anyone talking about it in the forums, so I thought I would pass it along for anyone that cares. After assembling it for the first time, I was able to #### and de-#### the hammers. The next time I took it out of the safe, I could hear a light rattle when I shook the gun. Then, when I cocked the hammers, they would not de-####, as though the safety was on. Pull hammer back, trigger wouldn't budge. Shake the gun again a few times, and randomly it would start to work properly.
After a google search, it turns out to be a problem experienced by enough people that there are Youtube videos on how to repair it. It is a screw that works itself loose from the safety mechanism, which lets the internal part of the safety flop around and engage randomly, even though the external control never moves. All you have to do is Loctite that screw back in and it's good as new.
Might be a good idea to take it apart and Loctite the screw before it comes loose, as a preventative measure, even if you haven't had the problem yet (so it doesn't happen when you need it the least).
Here is one of the videos I found on repairing it. Guy doesn't actually get to the repair part until around the 7 minute mark.
