NO YOU SHOULD NOT use your 180 grain ammo
the rifle's gas system and oprod are not designed for it. YES you can use other factory .308 hunting loads it is just recommended that you do not feed your rifle any highr than 174gr. mine loves 150 gr and 165 gr .... more than enough for any big game in b.c. out to 300 yards.
