Norinco M-93 'Woodsman'?

Hhhmm I was originally shooting the cheap Federal ammo ($29.99 for 525 at CDN Tire) but the guys at my range recommended CCI ammo. The CCI definitely has more kick and seems more accurate.

Funny someone mentioned Blazer.. I was told it cheap stuff and I should stay away from it.

...I've got this one in the mail couple of days ago. Covered in cosmo all over.
I do prefer all steel guns and since I paid $170 shipped with 1 year warranty it's hard to loose on such deal. My previous experience with Norinco wasn't too good though, so I'm looking forward to check this one out. So far the reviews coming from the owners are mostly very positive...well, we will see.

I checked weight of the pistol on my kitchen scale and it showed a little bit over 26 ounces unloaded. Since the gun is build of the forged and milled steel it's not a big surprise.
Blueing is rather symbolic if I may say so with pretty rough machining on the inside. Despite the above fit on this particular gun is good. You can see a firing pin block safety on the picture...

Plastic grips are ok, but if the gun will work well I will look around for wood.
Magazine looks acceptable, but usually this is a weak link in any Norinco made firearm, so You never know, it may work, it may not...
Disassembly was really easy, especially since I'm already familiar with Woodsman, but in fact it's even easier with Norinco. Putting things together took me less than 1 minute.

It sure won't be a target gun with its 4 1/2" barrel, but rather a plinker, fun small pistol that's going to see a lot of use. It has serrated trigger and adjustable rear sights.

I was thinking about the pistol similar in size to my favorite BHP. I think it's pretty close, despite shorter grip.

In one week I will post my first, range report.

That's it for now.
Thanks.

Hey can someone tell me how many mags the gun comes with! I thought it came with 2. I ordered it with and extra mag and only got 2 (I was expecting 3). Maybe I'm wrong and it only comes with 1.

that depends on WHO you get it from; i got mine from lever and there were 2- one in the gun and one in the slot in the packing; marstar typically has one; and no, they don't take one out of the package to make a quick buck- they come that way
same deal with the m54 tokarev

I'm waiting for my 3rd one to show up, sold the first 2 for some silly reason. When it comes to ammo, just remember these things are like a woman, can be a bit plugged up and tempermental with some foods, but runs like poop through a goose with others. (bad analogy!) Just gotta play with a few different brands to see what they like.

These are decent little guns. Cheap fun, great to play with. (knew a girl like that....)

Don't under estimate it! Mine was pretty accurate, I could get 4" groups at 25 yards with it and I'm sure the gun could do better. The sights a little small but if you do your job you can get good results with it.

Let me share my Nork's woodsman experience with you:
1. Good price with matching quality, you pay what you get. So, don't mess yourself up with those cosmetic stuff like rough machine marks.
2. It is very accurate as most people agreed. The only headache you'll get for this gun is this: very picky on ammo. I think the recoil spring is too strong and target ammo definitely will cause FTE.
3. It's not difficult to strip down for cleaning, just need some practice. Actually, it is easy to clean compare to other semi, including my Ruger Mark II.
4. One time as I clean the gun I accidentally drop the sear pin, with the sear falls out. I panic for a while and figure out that it is so easy to put back. Haha...now I can take the sear out, sand it down and polish it and now the trigger pull is much smoother!
5. Just remember to put something in the hammer spring slot to make the strike stronger.
6. I love the gun so much that I bought another one!

Just a question about dry firing after cleaning... after I clean my M93 naturally it ends up cocked. I can't cycle the action and dry fire repeatedly as I don't like to dry fire rim-fires so, as the manual suggests, I place a piece of cardstock (business card or the like) where it can cushion the firing pin strike. Is this what everyone is doing or is an occasional dry fire okay?

(I'm a big believer in the stupid question is the one that remains unasked line of reasoning by the way - or something like that... lol)
