I just bought a Norinco M305 that came with a fiberglass stock. I just ordered a Boyds stock and hand guard for it in Walnut. Is there anything I need to do special to have fit the stock to the rifle. Thanks for any help
Norinco M14 and Boyds Stock

The only issue you will guaranteed have is that the Norc M14 receiver (on the right side as you are holding it looking down the sights) underneath the slot for the guide rod/cocking handle are machined with a slight angle under them.
Take a look at it and you will see it clearly.
You will need to match that angle using a razor blade or sand paper with a hard block on the Boyds stock where they mate up or the rifle receiver will not site flush on top of the stock.
Perfect fit other than that
Other than that I had no issues when I did the same. I used all the Norc metal from the Chu wood stock and transferred them all over direct to the boyds. Even carefully pried off the front cap and reinstalled it on the boyds. I bed my M14's in their stocks though. It's a painstaking procedure but if done right can shrink the spread of your groups considerably. You need to cut metal from the liner, open up the front cap, unitize your gas system and shim it and then the clay/damming and upward tension on the barrel with getting the release agent on properly....
I was sweating bullets the first time I did it lol

Boyd's wood stocks are pretty much GTG out of the box. As Travis posted, you'll need to transfer your stock metal etc. And perhaps relive under the op-rod shelf.
If you are not bedding the action, you will need to either swap out the connector lock pin for a USGI length one or add a. It if filler to the stock to keep the chi-com connector lock in its home....
As a temporary measure, a bit of tape on the pin will keep it in place.

I buy my pins from Brownells in large amounts..... Always keep a few on hand.
Regarding that op rod guide pin (figure 8 thingy under the barrel), it's a (USGI dimensions, Norinco also) 1/8" by 3/4" long.... and that's why I give them away at my clinics. I buy them buy the hundreds ( 3 cents apiece, so I buy a couple of hundred). It's the mailing that is a pain in the butt!

I forgot about the Op Rod spring guide retainer pin.
You may have to JB weld a popsicle stick into the space where it slides out of the receiver to ensure it can't rock out during firing.
Only had to address 3 things sticking mine in a Boyds.
Had to remove a bit of wood under the rear trigger guard tang to pass the disconnector test, and the wood where the stock ferrule goes on was way too short giving too much of a gap. I just packed the ferrule with epoxy, fit it to where I was happy and let it set.
The other was the front of the stock liner with those 2 teeth needed to be reset in the new stock. Not very much work, the top was actually OK and sits flush with the receiver, didn't have to touch it at all.

On my two Boyds M14 stocks, when the action is dropped in, the barrel points a bit to the right.
I had to dremel out the left side of the receiver cut and epoxy up the right side and wedge it in place with a screw driver until it set.
It sits properly now. I haven't done the second one yet.

With my Boyds stock, I had to do a fair amount of work on it, I had to inlet under the op rod track, under the trigger group by where the mag goes in, there is a factory inlet there but it was not enough, could not lock the trigger group in with the amount of stock they had left, and also under the rear trigger guard tang to pass the disconnector test
