norinco m14 groups?

the next step is to do a trigger job and try my reloads...I should have gathered all the stuff to do so next week, 200 gr 311299's and I'm aiming for 2200 fps or close...
 
after having a M14 for a year now and shooting it fairly regularly im amazed when i see people with glass on them.
those guns buck like a bull and slam around.
i know ive read of people having problems with glass breaking or coming off of their M14's, you guys having any issues?
 
Why do I see so many M14 EBR's with really expensive looking glass on them? Is that a waste of money? I'm asking bc I was thinking of scoping my M1a.

I've had no issues after 2 years using a Zeiss Conquest. I think that lower quality glass might have a tendency to break. That said, I've seen folks use run-of-the-mill Bushnell's, Barskas and even Tasco and have no problems.

While many enjoy the excellent iron sights on the M1A, scopes do allow most of us to tighten our groups enough to make it worthwhile. Also for the visually challenged, they are almost a must-have.
 
they don't seem to kick that hard with 150 grs...at least I don't think so..the glass I have on it is a cheapo NCstar 3x9...well see if it lasts..I don't think I would put anything more than 300$ on I though. It is what it is...it's a hell of a hunting rifle, but for precision I would get a bolt rifle.
 
From what I've read here and other places more important than the scope is the mount an arms 18 or CASM from m14.ca. I got a arms I like it but I wish I had went with the CASM
