Hi Odd Shot. It is well lubricated. . .I think that the barrel is in line with the feed paths and magazine, not really sure what's causing the VERY difficult rack, but I am thinking I might try take it back today and see what the store says--after all I did buy two there. This one just seems a lot worse made then the first. . .there are even a bunch of hammer marks in the steel framing where the magazine slides in. Not expecting perfection for $500, but I do expect something that cycles fairly smoothly and has a relatively straight flash suppressor.
both of mine were very hard to rack at first too. they loosen up after racking the action a hundred times or so...it loosens up even faster after firing 20 or so rounds through it.
when you say that they're well lubed, you mean that you have grease on the op rod shaft and the op rod guide track, as well as on the underside of the bolt, the bolt roller and the track the bolt travels in, right?
also, when considering barrel alignment (index), 45ACPKING advises against regarding the feed ramps. Rather, look at the gas port on the underside of the barrel. Is it right at 6:00 and in line with the vertical axis of the receiver?
Look at the flash hider carefully: is it's vertical axis (i.e. where the 12:00 spline is inside the flash hider) perpendicular to the sight base?
On my first M305 (Norinco shorty), the sight base did form a right angle with vertical axis of the flash hider, but the front sight itself wasn't cut square (it was off quite a bit). In addition, the barrel wasn't screwed on tightly enough, causing it to be out of index with the receiver (it needed to be turned clockwise a bit more).

if your dissatisfied, I'd go back to the vendor and see if you can find one in better shape. I wasn't too excited about shipping the rifle back to BC from Ontario. Fortunately, Hungry was able to help me sort my rifle out, and now everything's all lined up.
