Every time I go shooting, my M14 jams. It is a regular Norinco with no mods whatsoever. At the start it shoots fine, but then the rounds never enter the chamber. They always get lodged in at an angle. Is it the magazine? Do I need to get some new parts? It worsens the more I shoot it, when I take it out. Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks.

check your gas plug tightness during shooting. Unless you have a gaslock wrench (the tuning fork) to help tighten that down, it will come loose thru shooting. That will lead to FTE/FTF/stovepipes etc.

Thanks guys. I will definitely make sure that the gas system is tight and grease it up a bit more. Is that why it jams the more I shoot it during the day?

I have seen 3 new norinco rifles that came from different retailers (whom all sourced their rifles from the same distributor) that had out of spec bolts that drop below the safety bridge when fully run to the rear of the action. All rifles show the same symptoms, they all do it occasionally with the trigger group installed, but do it every time with-out fail when the trigger group is removed (ie when doing the tilt test).

Not that I think this is happening with your rifle OP, but be aware that this maybe an issue.

1st ensure you have her lubed properly, make sure that it's not filthy. No oil in the gas system as already mentioned.

Still doing it? Check the magazine. Try a different mag that works in a different rifle, if that solves the problem, then that's your answer.

If it's still doing funky chit...... Then now it's time to start going through the stickies and doing all the checks and tests.....
If that still doesn't solve your problem..... You may need the services of a professional!

I had an odd issue with a buddy's Norc that was over indexed. Occasionally, the rounds from the right side of the mag would hang up due to the feed ramps being rotated too far and the round entering the chamber at an odd angle. Not sure if that was just a contributing issue but may be worth a look.
