Mine rear sight for my m14 is not very good. The clicks are not very positive and when I adjusts for wind age the elevation knob also turns. Any solutions:??

With mine the left elevation knob (the longer splined shaft) was pretty chewed up (stripped from new)...I replaced that and everything was good. Symptoms of mine were somewhat as you have...

That's one of the things that generally get replaced if you use sights as opposed to optics. Most people replace them with M1 garand rear sights. There was a guy in Italy selling rear sights on line for about $75 shipped. I don't know if he has any more, last I talked to him he was sold out but he must have a regular source because he's never usually sold out for long

Well, truth be told I did end up replacing the whole sight in the end (after the repair so I've got a spare rear sight). I managed to find a complete rear sight with NM aperature for a fairly economical price and put that in...much smoother operation. Like Dogzilla posted above...if I hadn't already changed the rear out I probably would have gone for the M1 Garand rear sight that he refers to.

Well thanks Guys :D

The ugly casting off its a bit of a turn off too. ill prob get my self a new rear sight some time down the road and maybe even a wood stock :p

Many times, problems with Norinco M14 rear sights can be fixed simply by disassembling, thoroughly cleaning, then re-assembling with loctite and lots of torque.

My sight became very loose the first time I spun a knob on it. I followed the above and it's been right as rain for something like 1200 rounds now.
