I've been out of the scene for awhile, and i've noticed some Norinco M14's selling around the $6-700 mark. Did supply die off or did the value of these rifles go up? I remember being able to get a bone stock one for around $200.

They use to sell for 399 brand new.

Now they sell for 599 to 675.

450 is pretty much the cheapest you'll find and they are more in the like of 550-600 and up to 1200 for a complete built (but these dont sell, people should just part em out...)

It's partly the supply and partly the low dollar IIRC. From what I remember hearing the Chinese ran out of receivers and had to start making new ones, so that increased the price some. Then the dollar tanked so that hurt it even more. Still a good deal in my opinion if you compare them to the price AR15s and the amount of work needed for each, or compared to Springfield M1As.

Oh? What country was that in? Because it wasn't Canada. $399 was the bottom price here, assuming you are talking buying new, on the retail market.

$299 at Marstar about 5-6 yrs ago. Bought mine shortly after for $329
Of course add GST and shipping

What? Can anyone else vouch for this? I feel like I would have noticed if pricing like this was widely advertised.

For the record, I bought two Norinco M14s direct from Marstar in December 2007 and they were $399 each, plus shipping and GST.

Agree.

In 09-10, they were out of stock. The first ones to come in after that were priced at $550.. Iirc

The cheapest in recent history I saw online was $399.00 new about 5-6 years ago 2009 recievers. Only came with one 5/5 mag IRRC. One of the yellow highlighted EE vendors that had the long pic list when you clicked on their ad. This was after the 2007 Marstar $399.00 Chuwood rifles I paid $449.00 from TradeEx about 6 years ago, the typical new price at the time was around $429.00, so new prices in the $575 range is still a good deal considering mild inflation since then and the poor current dollar.

now b4 you get all heady comparing prices, remember that the 305 that marstar was selling for 400 a few years back is NOT the same rifle that it is now- some of those had indexing issues and other faults- and the stock was GUMWOOD - I just got 3 305's in November and these are gtg right out of the box, provided you use 7.62x51 ammo- the quality control has IMPROVED somewhat over those that were school shop projects
